Raptor
I’m a mouse murderer
a prey puncher
an awesome sky soarer.
My prey is poorer
a good shrew swallower
living in trees that are hollower.
I’m a talon tackler
a bone crackler
the best pellet producer
(but rats’ are looser)
and a skua stealer
a rat peeler.
The Sad Leprechaun
It was so good when the Celts were here
but now all’s left is one old pier.
So I moved into this hutch
but now people have ipod touch.
So now I’m all lost and sad
like Queen Maeve when she was bad.
It was 5000 years ago
so now my hopes are running low.
Poems by Joel, Primary School.
I really enjoyed my poetry day with you at Needham Market and writing all of my poems. I’ve had a look on your web site and looked for my poems, but I can’t find them yet. My favourite poem that you read out to us was My Aunt Jane because we had to guess what she was. I have been writing some more poems and using the things you told us to make them really good! I hope you had a wonderful time with all the children and me, well I certainly did! I hope you write back.
From Oliver
Hi OLiver, thanks for checking in to the blog, and for your comment. I haven’t finished putting all the ABle Writers’ work on here yet, so yours will be in the next batch. I am glad you are using the techniques I taught you. Feel free to put them on here in the comment boxes. Glad you liked My Aunt Jane. I might write some more poems about my invented family. Would you like me to have an uncle who is a werewolf, for example?
